Bump XP's Speed Up By Tweaking Visual Settings
Bump XP's Speed Up By Tweaking Visual Settings: It's pretty common knowledge that changing (improving) the visual appearance of XP can tie an anchor to the XP interface and slow down its performance. On the plus side you can tweak the settings in XP Pro to provide a performance boost. Now the truth is the tweak renders an XP that may not look as good but boy does it improve the performance.
Note: Making the change will not, I repeat will not change how your computer functions.
Let's get to it.
- On the Start menu, right-click My Computer and click Properties.
- In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab. In the Performance area, click Settings.
- In the Performance Options dialog box, on the Visual Effects tab, you can either click the Custom radio button, and then select which user interface (UI) features to disable to improve performance. Or, if you click the Adjust for best performance radio button, all of the UI features will be disabled. Choose the option that works best for you.
- Click Apply.
