Making folder content unavailable - Encrypting Folders
Many Windows XP systems are used by multiple users, whether it's different members of the same family, or different employees sharing a desk.
To help make your data more secure from prying eyes, you can choose to encrypt certain folders - note however that your hard drive has to be formated in the NTFS system, and you must be running XP Professional edition.
To Encrypt a folder, right click on it and select Properties. On the General tab, click Advanced and then select Encrypt contents to secure data under the Compress or Encrypt attributes heading.
Click OK to confirm and then choose whether to encrypt this folder only or all of its subfolders as well.
Note:
While other users will be able to view these files and folders, they won't be able to open them.
